Zoology is a multidisciplinary subject that involves the study of organisms and their genetics morphological and phycological characteristics, as well as their surroundings and roles in environmental protection
Vision:
To promote the discovery and broad knowledge about the zoological aspects and their environments for conserving the biodiversity of local mountainous region as well as national and international level.

Mission:
To produce quality graduates through outcome-based education, training, and research. To generate and disseminate fundamental and applied scientific knowledge about Zoology, including its importance for human beings. To promote the knowledge and skills of students in zoological science with responsibilities towards society and achieve relevance of their studies for the betterment of mankind especially people of mountainous region.
Eligibility for BS Microbiology
- The candidates holding F.Sc. Pre-Medical or equivalent qualification with at least 45% marks are eligible to apply.
- The candidate holding 3rd division in HSSC or equivalent exam is not eligible for admission in BS or equivalent program at Kohsar University Murree.
- The maximum age of the applicant to BS Microbiology must not exceed 24 years.
- Equivalence Certificate of O & A Levels /Intermediate Certificate awarded by the foreign institutions from the applicants issued by the Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC) is mandatory.
- In case of late sessions, such applicant has to furnish an affidavit to the effect that he/she did not get admission in any Institution in the period intervening between the year of passing the Examination and year of application for admission.
Objectives
- 1. To impart knowledge about the major disciplines of Zoology. It will enable the graduates to understand the principles of organizations and inter-relationships in the biological systems with particular reference to the animal diversity of mountainous areas.
2. To train the students to identify research gaps/ problems of mountainous areas for generating scientific knowledge.
3. To teach different methods of exploration, investigation, organization of data and its utilization in practical life.
4. To train students for advanced studies and specialization in recently emerging technological and multidisciplinary fields such as Genetic Engineering, Biodiversity, Environmental Science, Wildlife and conservation, Fisheries and aquaculture, Pests and pest management, Biotechnology, etc. After completing the degree/students will be able to apply their knowledge to their respective fields effectively.
5. To develop the scientific culture and demonstrate professional skills in teaching/research/ managerial positions in a wide range of professions in national and international organizations.
