Psychology is an emerging subject in the field of health and sciences. With the advancement in technology, there is a specific focus on the diseases of the brain and their treatment. Previously disorders and people suffering from these disorders were treated very harshly. No attention was given to their treatment. Nowadays, mental illness has gained recognition like physical illness and hence approach to these mental disorders has dramatically increased.


The faculty members of Psychology Department of Kohsar University are keen to develop this Department as a center for excellence, which will provide teaching and research facilities in different emerging fields of psychology, like clinical psychology, positive psychology, personality psychology, cognitive psychology, artificial intelligence and stress management.

Moreover, the Department will provide research facilities at MS/M.Phil level in studying the racial attitudes and prejudice, different types of mental disorders, causes of gender and ethnic discrimination, intellectual abilities and aptitude in relation to cultural diversities, human resource management and psychological issues in relation to cultural belongings.

Moreover, the faculty members are determined to develop cultural free and cultural based psychological tests and to provide psychological and counselling services for nearby schools and other educational institutions. One can hope, this department will be more attractive and leading department of psychology in Pakistan, not due to its teaching and research facilities but also due to its central position of tourism.


The mission of the Psychology Department of Kohsar University is to provide a strong foundation in the basic knowledge and skills necessary for advanced study in psychology and related disciplines; to engage in psychological research and provide excellent teaching and service, informed and enhanced by our efforts to discover, synthesize, and transmit knowledge.
